JUNIOR DESIGNER DRAFTER
Responsible for the preparation of design and construction documents under guidance of Designer/Drafter, Job Captain, Project Architect, or Project Manager. Requires knowledge and some experience in design development, architectural drafting, and detailing on a wide variety of projects. Should have knowledge of procedures for production of design and construction documents, knowledge of architectural planning, drafting, detailing, and building materials; basic knowledge of consultant roles and responsibilities, and a basic knowledge of codes.

Supports a positive project team culture in order to provide superior service to our client
Support Project Manager, Project Architect / Supervisor, and Project Designer throughout the project
Committed to design excellence that meets PDA’s and our clients' needs delivered on schedule within both the clients' and PDA’s budget
Assist with the development of a quality set of contract documents that ensures the design and construction of a project meets or exceeds the client’s expectations
Implement PDA standards and processes
Assist in code and material research for various aspects of the project.
Assist on responding to agency comments under the direction of supervisor
Assist in project delivery
Makes revisions to documents based on supervisors comments (“red marks”)
Assist supervisor with project logs and information transfers
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Identify opportunities for personal growth / development within or outside of PDA
Problem solves and poses solutions to supervisor in a productive manner
Support project leadership by working efficiently and ensuring the drafters are working efficiently and are following PDA standards
Identify potential production or scheduling problems early and seek resolution or escalate the problem to the Project Architect’s / Supervisor’s attention promptly
Build for the Future
Identify opportunities for performance improvement and process redesign
Communicate back to team on feedback received from consultants and contractors
Minimum Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent work experience preferred (5 years+ if no degree)
Experience in AutoCAD software / Revit and BIM processes preferred
Experience working with the Office of Statewide Health Planning Department (OSHPD) and/or Building & Planning Departments preferred
Thorough knowledge of architectural drafting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel
Strong professionalism and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
