PROJECT SUPERVISOR

Description:

This role interacts with all members of the firm and requires daily problem solving, time management, multi-tasking and a great attitude under pressure.  Frequently works on multiple projects at a time. Well-developed organizational and communication skills and attention to detail are required.  Provides supervision and quality-control oversight of project team by providing design support and interface with Project Manager/Designer.  Additionally, directs project research, documentation, approval and project construction administration.   
A Project Supervisor is actively seeking to obtain an architectural license in the state of California and has passed a minimum of one A.R.E. exam.  

Reports To: Principal / Project Manager


Roles & Responsibilities: 

Leadership

  • Mentor and manage team members in areas such as time management and developing client relationships
  • Creates and fosters strong teamwork & project team culture, and is a resource for team
  • Ensures that teams have the resources and support to provide superior service to our clients
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and /or facilities concurrently
  • Works with the Project Designer and Project Manager to provide leadership to the team and client
  • Ensures project goals and design intent are met at each stage of the project
  • Promoting teamwork

Client Relationship

  • Assist Project Manager on status update reports and progress narratives on a regular basis

Project Delivery

  • Attend job site meetings at preconstruction and during construction
  • Assist Project Manager with establishing budget and schedule and establish/Implement project objectives and procedures
  • Committed to design excellence that meets clients’ needs delivered on schedule within both the clients' and PDA’s budget
  • Responsible for oversight of job captain/s and designers
  • Responsible for development and implementation of quality documents that ensure the design and construction of a project meets or exceeds the customer's expectations
  • Provide direction to assigned staff and technical experience to resolve architectural problems.
  • Provide quality control and quality assurance on contract documents
  • Assures project coordination with consultants and job captain is being performed
  • Provides guidance as it relates to Jurisdictions having authority (e.g. OSHPD, City, etc.), code requirements and best practice to assure life safety for the public
  • Assists Project Manager to deliver a project(s) in accordance with established budget and schedule
  • Assist Project Manager in certifying Contractor Pay applications
  • Review and respond to Proposed Change orders (PCO)
  • Review Amended Construction Documents
  • Assist Project Manager/Principal in developing probable construction costs
  • Responsible for directing construction administration services
  • Attend and represent PDA at project Owner, Architect, Contractor (OAC) meetings
  • Review and respond to Request for Information (RFI)
  • Assure job captain is reviewing and processing submittals/shop drawings
  • Issue Architectural Supplemental Information (ASI) and Construction Change Directives (CCD)

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture
  • 8+ years of experience (preferably partially in healthcare)
  • Strong experience in REVIT
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD software and BIM processes
  • Experience working with the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD)
  • Thorough knowledge of architectural drafting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel
  • Strong professionalism and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Project
  • Thorough knowledge of detailing, building materials, codes and construction
