University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dentistry
The University of Nevada Las Vegas wanted to quickly add a School of Dentistry to their curriculum but had insufficient space at the existing campus. PDA researched and discovered a site in the Las Vegas Medical District with existing buildings that could be converted to allow the new School of Dentistry to accommodate 75 students in as soon as one year, with a capacity of 300 students within four years.
UNLV wanted to develop the School of Dentistry in the most time and cost-effective manner. PDA developed a solution that met their immediate goals of starting classes in a very short timeframe, while still allowing for multiple possibilities for growth and expansion, including a planned Bio Tech/Cancer Institute.
PDA’s Conceptual Design initially utilizes 15,000 square feet for Classrooms, an Anatomy Lab, Simulated Operatory, Simulated Laboratory, Administration and Offices, expanding to 100,000 square feet with additional Radiology, Pediatrics, Orthodontics, Surgery, Laboratories and Lecture Rooms over the next four years.
The new remote campus, located in a key area in Las Vegas’ Medical District would enable the school to strengthen its profile in the community and create ties to the medical community at-large.
