RResponsible for the preparation of design development and construction documents under guidance of Job Captain, Project Architect, or Project Manager. Requires substantial experience in design development, architectural drafting, and detailing on a wide variety of projects. Should have substantial knowledge of procedures for production of design development and construction documents, a thorough knowledge of architectural planning, drafting, detailing, and building materials; a working knowledge of site planning, civil, structural, mechanical and acoustical engineering; and a general knowledge of codes.

Project Delivery

  • Committed to design excellence that meets PDA’s and our clients' needs delivered on schedule within both the clients' and PDA’s budget

  • Assist with the development of a quality set of contract documents that ensures the design and construction of a project meets or exceeds the client’s expectations

  • Provide quality control and quality assurance on contract documents by strict implementation of PDA standards and processes

  • Research codes, materials, trends, constructability, techniques, life safety, design, etc.

  • Assist on responding to agency comments under the direction of Supervisor

  • Assist Job Captain on delivering project(s) in accordance to established budget and schedule

  • Distributes/coordinates information to consultants/reviewing agency/contractor per Supervisor direction

  • Makes revisions to documents based on Supervisors comments (“red marks”)

  • Assist Supervisor on administering construction by logging documents, transmitting information, revising contract documents

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written

  • Problem solves and poses solutions to Supervisor in a productive manner

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent work experience preferred (5 years+ if no degree)

  • Strong experience in REVIT

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD software and BIM processes

  • Experience working with the Office of Statewide Health Planning Department (OSHPD) and/or Building & Planning Departments preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of architectural drafting

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel

  • Strong professionalism and interpersonal skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of detailing, building materials, codes and construction
