This past May, I had the opportunity to attend the LeadingAge CA 2019 Annual Conference in Monterey. This was a great opportunity to engage with leaders and experts in the senior care field. I was blown away to learn about the many forces affecting senior care today and how they may impact those approaching retirement age over the next ten to twenty years. The following are some of my highlights from the conference.

Vibra Healthcare held a grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration on February 12th in honor of its new freestanding, inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital designed by Puchlik Design Associates (PDA). The first of its kind in the Coachella Valley, the rehabilitation hospital is located on the corner of Ramon and Duvall in Rancho Mirage, California and has 50 private patient rooms including two bariatric isolation rooms with dialysis and advanced rehabilitation technology.
Passing the Architect Registration Examination and the California’s Supplemental Examination is no easy task. It shows skill, dedication to high standards in professional practice and commitment to the design of healthy and safe environments.
Gerry Puchlik and Melinda Lehman are honored to be on the Advisory Board for the Cal Poly Pomona Healthcare Architecture Initiative. On October 24th, Gerry and Melinda, along with Iliana Kolettis and Korina Salas, conducted an afternoon studio session for the healthcare architecture students.
